Meet George Litterst
George is a nationally known music educator, clinician, author, performer, and music software developer.
A classically-trained pianist, he completed his undergraduate work in music at Vassar College and subsequently earned his Master’s Degree in piano performance at the New England Conservatory of music where he taught as a member of the Preparatory School faculty for 22 years. George's students have varied from beginners to advanced players. Their ages have spanned seven decades. In 2023, George became a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. |
His years of teaching piano led him to the field of software development. He is currently the president of TimeWarp Technologies, a software company that creates innovative resources for students, teachers, hobbyist players, and professional musicians. These applications provided a lifeline for teachers in 2020 when they were suddenly forced to move their teaching online as a result of the pandemic.
A frequent presenter at national music educator conferences, George is the author of over 100 articles on the applications of new technologies in music education. In 2010, an application that he co-authored called Home Concert Xtreme won the MTNA-Frances Clark Award for Keyboard Pedagogy.
